Tips, tricks, and plant guides to make plant-parenting
You may know this plant as “Fire Croton” or “Garden Croton”, but it is most commonly referred to as “Variegated Croton”. Codiaeum Variegatum is a tropical evergreen shrub best known for its large, colorful leaves and its purifying properties.
This plant is native to tropical climates and prefers to live in moist soil, but is highly resilient and can be watered as little as once a month or as often as once per week. Soil is a good indicator as to when you need to water your Codiaeum Variegatum. If the top ½ inch of soil is dry to the touch, add water, allow the water to drain fully, and repeat the process to ensure even soil moisture.
While Variegated Croton is not quite as poisonous as other plants, it should be kept well out of reach of any pets or small children.
These plants thrive in Light Level_Bright, so it's a good idea to place your Codiaeum Variegatum in a south-facing window so it gets plenty of sunshine.
Variegated Croton is famous for its beauty, but often kept as an indoor plant due to its ability to pull volatile organic compounds from the air and purify the oxygen in your home or office.
Codiaeum Variegatum is a fantastic way to freshen up the air and add a splash of color to any space!
