Dracaena Fragarans is known by a handful of names including “Fragrant Dracaena” and “Corn” but is most frequently referred to as a “Cornstalk Plant”. This plant is known for its subtle beauty and fragrant flowers. Dracaena Fragarans is native to parts of Africa including Sudan, Angola, Mozambique, but is grown in houses around the planet as an ornamental plant.
In Nasa’s Clean Air Study, it was found that Dracaena Fragrans is capable of filtering a variety of toxins from the air. Formaldehyde, Toluene, and Xylene are all harsh toxins commonly found in the air we breathe, but the cornstalk plant has the ability to absorb these compounds and release fresh air in exchange.
Don't let its beauty fool you, the ASPCA considers Dracaena Fragrans to be toxic to both cats and dogs. If you share your space with any furry friends, it's best to keep this plant out of reach.
A little fresh air is good for everyone. If you're looking to purify the air in your home with the power of nature, Dracaena Fragrans is a beautiful choice.
