FAQ
Is Angel Wing Begonia toxic?
According to the National Capital Poison Center, Begonias have a #1 toxicity level and are not toxic to humans. Some people even eat the leaves of this plant to enjoy their tart, sweet taste. That being said, these beautiful plants are extremely toxic to cats and dogs. Angel Wings can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and a number of other symptoms in pets. It is best to keep this plant well out of reach if you have any dogs or cats.
What’s the ideal temperature?
One of the things that people love about this plant is that it lives at a temperature that is very comfortable for humans. The ideal temperature range for this begonia is between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This is great because it means that you don’t need to adjust the thermostat in your home or office to accommodate.
What’s the ideal humidity level?
Angel Wings love humidity! This plant is quite resilient and can stand fluctuating temperatures and humidity, but it does best when in 90% humidity. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you have to live in a humid environment. It simply means that you should mist this plant to simulate its natural environment.
Does it purify the air?
There are many benefits to keeping Begonias as houseplants, but one of the things people love most is that these plants are powerful air purifiers. Angel Wings have slightly quilted leaves that make them ideal for changing CO2 to Oxygen and removing toxins in the process. There is no reason to keep a loud electric air purifier when you can enjoy fresh, naturally purified air from a quiet and beautiful plant!
